INDIANAPOLIS, Sep 14, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Indianapolis-based appliance and electronics leader hhgregg (NYSE:HGG) announced today that it will hold Grand Opening sales in all of its Washington, D.C. area stores to celebrate the opening of ten new stores in the market and welcome new customers. The sales will run at each Washington-area hhgregg location from September 16th-September 26th, providing local residents with low prices on hhgregg's wide selection of televisions, appliances and electronics. Customers will also be able to take advantage of special financing options on a wide variety of items, and will have a chance to register to win a Frigidaire Stainless Steel Appliance Package or a Magellan GPS.
Ribbon-cutting ceremonies for each of the new stores will take place at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 16th followed by the launch of the Grand Opening sales at 3:00 p.m.

These ten new locations bring hhgregg's total number of stores in the Washington, D.C. area to twelve. It's first stores in the market, located at 17766 Garland Groh Boulevard in Hagerstown, MD and 2580 South Pleasant Valley Road in Winchester, VA opened in April 2010. The Hagerstown and Winchester stores will also participate in the Grand Opening sales.

More than 600 residents from the area have been hired to staff hhgregg's Washington, D.C. stores. All employees undergo a comprehensive training program and receive more than 200 hours of product training each year.
